What is satxn?

satxn (satin) is the social I couldn’t find, so I created it…

satxn is a social for queer women and non-binary people who connect with femme or feminine expression.

Created for those craving good music and cocktails under dim lights, beautiful spaces and genuine connection, whether romantic or platonic.

It’s anti-clique, and solo friendly. I want it to feel like settling into the intimate corner of a house party.

Whether you’re lesbian, bisexual, pan, fluid, questioning, or label-less, single or partnered, monogamous or non-monogamous, you are welcome.

This space simply reflects my interpretation of femininity and the kind of atmosphere I was craving. I’m not here to define what femininity means to anyone else, nor to suggest there’s only one way to express it. If you see yourself in the world satxn is creating, you’re welcome here.

Who is C?

You can call me Chen.

I’m a 33-year-old creative from South London.

For a while now I have been looking for a queer, social space that feels like me. Somewhere I could dress up, or down, depending on my mood, beat or bare-faced, while still feeling authentic to my energy in that moment. Somewhere to slow down, meet new people without the pressure to perform, and leave feeling fuller than when I arrived.

I wanted less “whine pon di cocky” and more “don’t be a hard rock when you really are a gem, babygirl.” Gimmie all of that… but in a dimly lit room full of femmes.

I couldn’t find it. So I created it.

If any of this feels like you, stay a while…

On the aux

Respect is non-negotiable.

satxn has zero tolerance for racism, transphobia, homophobia, violence, harassment, discrimination or hateful speech or behaviour of any kind.

satxn is intentionally femme-centred. While everyone experiences and expresses femininity differently, the atmosphere of this space is rooted in celebrating it. I ask everyone who joins to honour and respect that.

Protecting the room means protecting the people in it.

FAQs

Is satxn a dating event?

Not quite. satxn is a social where romantic and platonic connections can happen naturally. Come with no expectations beyond having a lovely evening. Regardless, respect, boundaries and enthusiastic consent are non-negotiable.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. satxn is intentionally solo-friendly. I’ll do my best to make sure you are well looked after.

Who is satxn for?

satxn is a femme-centred social for queer women and non-binary people. Whether you’re lesbian, bisexual, pan, fluid, questioning, or label-less, you are welcome.

Do I have to identify as femme?

satxn is a femme-centred space. If you feel at home in that, you’re welcome. I’m not here to define or police what femininity means to anyone. I simply ask that everyone who joins us respects the intention of the space.

What should I wear?

There isn’t a strict dress code, just dress in a way that feels true to you. If you’re unsure of the mood, the insta page is the best place to get a feel for the satxn aesthetic.

What can I expect?

Dim lights, smooth sounds, beautiful spaces, thoughtful conversation and a carefully curated atmosphere.

What if I’m questioning my sexuality?

You’re welcome here.

What if I feel uncomfortable?

Please speak to Chen or a member of the satxn/bar team. Protecting the room means protecting the people in it.

How old do I need to be?

25+ preferred, 21+ welcome.

Why invite-only? How can I be invited?

satxn is invite-only, but not because it’s difficult to get into. It simply means it grows through word of mouth. You might hear about satxn through a friend, be handed a satxn card irl, receive a DM from Chen, or slide in satxn’s DMs yourself! The evening is intentionally intimate, with no more than 80 tickets available. Not to create exclusivity, but to create ease. A smaller room means less overwhelm, more meaningful conversations, and the opportunity to genuinely connect with the people around you, whether you come solo or with femmes.
